6 Days chimpanzee Tracking & Wildlife Safari Itenary
Day 1:Pick up and transfer to kibale National park
Pick up after an early break fast then transfer to the western part of Uganda via Fort portal currently transformed to a City for lunch and a relieve point the resume with the journey, view beautiful scenaries amazing landscapes among others
Day 2: Chimpanzee Tracking and hike to Bigodi swamp kibale National Park
Having the greatest number of primate concentration of about 13 primates in East Africa chimpanzees inclusive makes the whole sense why Kibale National park is one of the major destination for both chimpanzee trekking and habituation. Hike through the forest as you sight different bird species, capture moments with trained guides, track chimpanzees ask questions and then after head back for rest and lunch.
An evening hike to Bigodi swamp and view different species like baboons ,mongoose bush bucks, and different bird species. visit different communities as a give back to local communities and donations are allowed (optional). After the walk the guide drives you back to the hotel for dinner and over nite.
Day 3: Drive to Queen Elizabeth National park
After an early break fast transfer to Queen n Elizabeth for game drives boat cruise along the Kazinga channel plus sighting different beautiful scenaries or landscape like crater lakes. After arriving the guide directs you suggested accommodation for dinner and over nite.
Day 4: Game Drive And Boat Cruise at kazinga Channel Queen Elizabeth National Park
Being a well gazetted habitat for numerous wild creatures Queen Elizabeth has a number of wild animals with the famous tree climbing Lions and others like elephants, hyenas bush bucks buffaloes among others. The activity is best done early in the morning as different wild animals are in search for food. After the game drive the head back for lunch with the guide.
In the evening visit the kazinga channel for the boat cruise, view different aquatic species and other animals along the shores like crocodile,hippos buffaloes, among others. Then drive back for dinner and over nite.
Day 5: Transfer to L. Mburo for Birding, Game Drive and Communal walks
This national park finalizes the tour with amazing activities like communal walks in tea plantations , visiting various Ankole Long horned cattle herds and fresh breath from the small lakes like L. Kazuma among others these activities are done after resting on arrival
Day 6 : Game drive and birding then depart
Being one of the dominant habitat for the Impalas, zebras and giraffes game drive is one of the major activity in Lake Mburo, view different stunning bird species like crested cranes saddle billed storks and others.
After the activities the guide departs to Kampala with a stop over at the Equator then to planned destination.

Chimpanzee Habituation Experience-Kibale National Park
Engage in transformation of wild chimpanzees in Kibale to trek-able chimps. Visit the primate world for a 1 Day experience in the jungle with our closest relatives sharing over 98% of our DNA. chimpanzee Habituation experience best suits researchers and nature lovers because it gives enough time to research, learn and ask any form of question from trained guide or ranger plus the fresh soothing breath from the tropical rain forest in Kibale National Park.
The habituation process involves hiking through the forest in search of a group of chimpanzees which is not normally trekked then spend the all day trying to transforming them. This gives you time to really connect with the group and learn about their different characters and habits, and group dynamics. This experience offers a real chance to develop fieldwork skills and learn about behavioral research. Guests are also accompanied by both UWA rangers and guides who know the chimps intimately and will be able to answer any questions you may have during the habituation experience, and can discuss the history of the group and changes over time.
NOTE:
Since Chimpanzee Habituation is a full day experience You can choose a nature or community walk in Bigodi in the evening after arriving in the afternoon or the second day after the habituation experience.
Despite kibale being the most popular Chimpanzee Habituation and trekking destination chimpanzees can be trekked in Kyambura Gorge depending on the Itenary
PRIOR INFO BEFORE TREKKING
- Book a permit a month before the tracking date
- You must be at least 12 years old to go chimpanzee trekking in Kibale Forest National Park
- There are typically 8 people per trekking group
- To prevent transmitting human-borne diseases to the chimps, anyone who is ill (with the flu, for example) is not allowed in the park.
- Keep a Distance of at least 10 meters between you and the chimpanzees
- Don’t eat next to the chimpanzees
- Standard operating procedures(SOPS) like masks, sanitizing and washing hands are observed
Despite the wide spread pandemic out break, Kibale national park has re-opened both residents and non residents with in the country boundary are allowed to track chimpanzees.
